The Brief

GymPassport is a fitness membership platform that lets members access hundreds of independent gyms on a single subscription — finding nearby venues, checking class availability, and checking in at the door in seconds, without a separate contract for every site.

The Challenge

Fragmented gym networks make flexible fitness hard to scale. Each venue ran its own membership system, so access data never lined up and check-ins depended on staff at a desk. Our client came to us to unify the network for the following reasons:

— Give members one membership that works across every partner gym, with live availability;

— Replace manual door checks with sub-second verification that works offline;

— Collect usage data — visit patterns, peak hours, class demand — to guide partner payouts;

— Build an onboarding flow that lets new gyms join without bespoke integration work.

The Solution

We assembled a dedicated team — project manager, business analyst, UI/UX designer, and mobile engineers — to unify the gym network behind one membership. Drawing on prior work with multi-venue access systems, they defined an architecture that scales to hundreds of partners without bespoke integration per site.
