Post-launch cleanup for startups
Early teams overprovision to be safe, then never revisit it. We right-size instances, databases and Kubernetes nodes to match the traffic you really have, which is often a fraction of what was planned for.
We find what your cloud bill is actually paying for and remove the waste — rightsizing, commitments, and architectural changes ranked by saving against effort.
Most cloud bills grow quietly. A test environment nobody switched off, a database sized for a launch that never got that busy, logs kept forever because no one set a retention rule. None of it is a scandal on its own, but together it adds up to a bill that rises every quarter while traffic stays flat. Cloud cost optimization is the work of finding those leaks, ranking them, and closing them without breaking anything your customers depend on. The first pass is usually the easiest money you will ever save.
We approach it as engineers, not accountants. That means reading your architecture alongside the invoice, because the expensive line items usually trace back to a design decision: chatty services across regions, an always-on cluster for a batch job, or a managed service picked for convenience three years ago. Some fixes take an afternoon. Others need a sprint and a migration plan. We tell you which is which before you commit any time. We also check the bill for third-party tools, CDN charges and API usage, because those rarely show up in anyone's dashboard until they get large.
Softzee has been building and running production systems since 2020 for clients in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the UK, the US and Pakistan. We have paid our own cloud bills, so we know where the money hides. Whether you run on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, the goal is the same: a smaller bill, the same performance, and enough visibility that the savings hold next year too. We document every change so your own team understands it and can keep the bill in check without calling us back.

Dev, staging and QA environments rarely need to run at 3 a.m. on a Sunday. We set up schedules and on-demand spin-up so you stop paying for idle capacity outside working hours.
Old snapshots, unattached volumes, uncompressed logs and cross-region traffic are classic hidden costs. We find them, set lifecycle rules, and move cold data to cheaper storage tiers.
Commitments save real money, but only if they match a stable baseline. We model your usage history and recommend a commitment level you will actually consume, not one that locks you into waste.
Sometimes the bill is high because the design is expensive. Moving a batch workload to serverless, adding a cache in front of a busy database, or consolidating microservices can cut cost permanently.
LLM API calls and GPU instances can burn budget faster than anything else in your stack. We add caching, smaller models where quality allows, batching and usage limits so AI features stay affordable as they scale.
You get a list ordered by what each change saves, how long it takes, and what could go wrong. That makes it easy to approve quick wins this week and plan bigger changes properly.
Many cost reports stop at recommendations. We can also implement them, test them in staging, and roll them out with your team, so the plan does not sit in a shared drive.
We check latency, error rates and capacity headroom before and after each change. If a cut would hurt users, we say so and find a different saving.
Tagging, per-team dashboards and budget alerts mean the next spike gets noticed in days, not at the end of the quarter. Your team owns that setup after we leave.
Unit economics matter when you are raising or trying to reach profitability. We tie cloud spend to cost per customer so you can see which features and tenants are expensive to serve.
Traffic spikes around sales and holidays, then drops. We set up autoscaling that follows demand, so you are not paying peak-season prices in a quiet month.
Compliance often means logging and backups that grow without limit. We design retention and archiving that satisfy audit requirements at a much lower storage cost.
Medical imaging and patient records create large, long-lived data sets. We apply tiered storage and access controls so data stays secure and available without premium pricing on every byte.
Tracking and routing platforms generate constant event streams. We tune message queues, databases and data pipelines so high-volume location data does not translate into a runaway bill.
Learning platforms are busy during term and exam weeks and quiet in between. Scheduled scaling and right-sized video delivery keep hosting costs in line with the academic calendar.

A one-time audit with a ranked savings plan usually costs between $3,000 and $10,000, depending on how many accounts, services and environments you run. Hands-on implementation is priced separately, and most projects land between $8,000 and $40,000 when architectural changes are involved. Ongoing cost governance can be handled on a monthly retainer. We give you a fixed quote after a short discovery call and a read-only look at your billing data.
It depends on how the environment was built and how long it has run without review. Accounts that have never been optimized often have obvious waste in idle resources, oversized instances and old storage. Well-managed accounts have less to find, and savings come from commitments and design changes instead. We will not promise a percentage before we see your data, but the audit gives you a dollar estimate for each recommendation.
The initial spend analysis and plan typically take two to three weeks. Quick wins such as rightsizing, scheduling and storage cleanup can usually be shipped in the following two weeks. Architectural changes take longer, often one to three months, because they need proper testing and a staged rollout. You start seeing savings on the next bill after the first changes go live.
It should not, and we design the work so it does not. Every change is measured against latency, error rates and capacity headroom before and after rollout. Risky changes are tested in staging first and released gradually. If a saving would hurt user experience, we flag it and leave it out of the plan.
Yes. We work across AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, as well as hosting providers such as DigitalOcean and Hetzner for smaller workloads. The principles are the same on every platform, but the tools, pricing models and commitment options differ. We also review third-party costs such as monitoring tools, CDNs and AI API usage, which are often overlooked.
For the audit we only need read-only access to billing and resource metadata, not to your application data. Implementation work uses scoped roles that you create and can revoke at any time. We sign an NDA before starting and follow least-privilege access throughout. All scripts, dashboards and configuration we build belong to you.
Savings fade if nobody watches the bill. We set up consistent tagging, per-team or per-environment dashboards, and budget alerts that warn you before spend gets out of hand. We also document the decisions made so new engineers understand why things are configured the way they are. If you prefer, we can run a monthly cost review for you.
